Starting the calibration
The following steps are required to carry out the automatic calibration process:

Connect the calibration microphone (included in the set) to the socket
marked ‘MIC IN’ on the active unit, and set it up at your listening position.





Call up the Preset menu by holding the

button pressed in.


Now use the

/

buttons to select the ‘  ’ point.

A further long press on the

button starts the calibration process.

If the microphone is not plugged in correctly, the message
‘  ’
appears
on the screen. If this should happen, please check the connection. After
an idle time of 30 seconds waiting for the microphone, the unit displays
'

' and restarts.

If everything is connected correct, t
he message ‘  ’ appears on the
screen, and the calibration process starts after a delay of thirty seconds
and the display shows '

'.
Please note the warning below.

During the calibration process you will hear a series of test signals. Avoid
any extraneous loud noises during this period, as they might falsify the
results.

When the process is complete, the screen displays the message
‘  ’
, and
the sub-woofer loads the new parameters by switching itself off and then
on again.

All the remaining settings - such as adjusting the level - can now be
carried out (see the section entitled
‘Settings’
).

The calibration signal is generated at high volume in order to mask as
much ambient sound as possible. For this reason you should avoid stan-
ding in the immediate vicinity of the sub-woofer during the calibration
process.
Be sure to allow the calibration process to finish completely before you
disconnect the microphone or switch the sub-woofer off!

If the automatic calibration process fails to produce good results - perhaps
because the acoustic conditions in your listening room are difficult - try setting
up the microphone in one corner of the room.
