Network
In a large environment, you can set up a wireless network using multiple Access
Points and thereby create a large coverage area. In such a network, computers with
Wireless USB Dongles that “roam” between different locations within the network
area will be served by the various Access Points and maintain the same network
connection. Roaming wireless stations in a multiple Access Point network will
automatically switch between Access Points when necessary.
To create a multiple Access Point network, the Access Points must be connected by
way of a wired backbone. Access Points must overlap to ensure complete connection
coverage for the roaming client. Note that all the Access Points and USB Dongles
must have the same security settings to communicate.
The Wireless USB Dongle supports roaming between all types of Access Points,
including 802.11b and 802.11g.
