Chapter 2: Hardware Setup

Start up Your Synology NAS

1

Connect one end of the power cord to the power port located on the back of your /R and

the other end to a power outlet.

Connect at least one LAN cable to one of the LAN ports and the other end to your switch, router, or hub.

Make sure the Power Supply On/Off Switch

is turned on (“─”).

Press the power button to turn on your /R.

Congratulations! Your Synology NAS is now online and detectable from a network computer.
