To use the magnetic stripe reader:
Note:
The MSR 8000 does not need to be attached to the
power supply to read magnetic stripes.
1. Ensure that a magnetic stripe reader application is loaded on
the terminal. A sample application is available at
http//devzone.symbol.com
2. Attach the magnetic stripe reader to the terminal.
3. Power on the terminal.
4. Tap the icon associated with the magnetic stripe reader
application on your terminal, or navigate to the magnetic
stripe reader application under the Start menu on the
terminal.
5. Swipe the magnetic stripe card through the reader, ensuring
the magnetic stripe on the card is positioned as shown
below.
Note:
The card may be swiped in either direction, from left to
right, or from right to left, with the magnetic stripe facing
away from the terminal. For best results, gently press
down on the card while swiping to ensure contact with
the bottom of the reader.
