Note:
To use the cradles for charging and batch communica-
tion, you must first remove the MDM 3000 from the bot-
tom of the terminal.
To charge the terminal’s battery using the AC Adapter cable:
1. Insert the adapter cable into the Battery Charger Port on the
side of the module.
2. Plug the wall plug into the wall outlet. The terminal’s battery
is fully charged after two hours.
Note:
The terminal can be used while plugged into the wall
outlet.
Connecting the MDM 3000
Connect an RJ11 cable:
1. Insert the RJ11 connector on the cable into the modem port
on the MDM 3000.
2. Connect the other end to an analog telephone jack on the
wall.
Note:
The middle two pins of the connector provide the signal
to the MDM3000.
Caution:
To reduce the risk of fire, use only No. 26 AWG or larger
telecommunication line cord.
Using the Correct Telephone Line Type
Use a standard analog phone line, as in most households. In an
office, use a line connected to a fax machine or modem. In a hotel,
request a room with a standard phone line or data port. If
necessary, check with the local phone company or administrator
to make sure you’re using the right type of line before sending
data.
