DNS Mail Server Record Properties—Aliases tab
Use the Aliases tab to assign an alias, or short name, to a mail server to be used in DNS lookups. Aliases
are only resolvable for access requests originating from the security gateway itself.

The Domains served tab lets you configure the domains for which the mail server provides service.

DNS Mail Server Record Properties—Description tab
Optionally, provides an extended description. This information is useful to help track changes or it can
be used as criteria for searches.
The maximum length is 20,000 alphanumeric characters.
DNS Name Server Record Properties—General tab
The DNS system supports defining name servers for a domain. The name server entry marks the
authoritative servers to consult when performing DNS lookups for a host in that domain. Authoritative
name servers maintain an internal record, called a host record, for each host in the domain.
Note:
You can only configure the security gateway to act as a primary name server.

Name format can be dotted quad, or in a format such as: host.symantecs.org, or
www.symantecs.org.
The maximum length is 256 characters.
Allowed characters are a-z, A-Z, numerals, periods (.), dashes (-), and underscores (_).
Do not include spaces in the name. The characters @,!,#,$,%,^,&,*,<,> and other reserved
characters are also invalid.

A unique name for the DNS Mail Server record.
The maximum length is 256 characters.
Allowed characters are a-z, A-Z, numerals, periods (.), and dashes (-).
Do not include spaces in the name. The characters @,!,#,$,%,^,&,*,<,>, _ and other reserved
characters are also invalid.
Optionally, a preference can be added to the end of the domain served, using the format in
this example: symantecs.com/10.
