Testing the hardware accelerator chip with hardware encryption diagnostics
Hardware encryption diagnostics run tests on the Symantec Gateway Security 5400 and 5600 Series
appliances. On the 5400 Series, it could show that the accelerator card is broken and on the 5600, it
could show a defective chip on the motherboard. The results of the diagnostic are either successful or
fail. Successful means the hardware accelerator chip or card is working correctly. Failed means the
hardware accelerator chip or card is not working correctly. If the diagnostics fail, you should contact
Symantec Technical support.

To test the hardware accelerator chip with hardware encryption diagnostics

In the SGMI, in the left pane, under Monitors, click
Status
.

In the right pane, on the Hardware Encryption Diagnostics tab, click
Diagnostics
.
The results of the test (successful or failed) display on the Hardware Encryption Diagnostics
window.
If there is no encryption card installed, the message “Hardware Diagnostics Not Successful, result is
NULL” displays.

Viewing clientless VPN failed logon attempts
If a user has exceeded the allowed number of failed logon attempts, and has been placed in the Locked
user accounts list, you can unlock the user account to allow the user to log on again.

None.
To view clientless VPN failed logon attempts

In the SGMI, in the left pane, under Monitors, click
Status
.

In the right pane, on the Clientless VPN Failed Logons tab, in the Locked user accounts list, view
the list of locked out user accounts.
