Configuring additional Web features
The security gateway’s ability to handle and process HTTP traffic can be modified to suit your specific
needs. This section presents an overview of the additional HTTP capabilities the security gateway
supports, and the specific steps needed to configure those capabilities. This section assumes that you
have already configured access for Web traffic.

Enabling support for WebDAV
Using the procedure in this section, you can configure the HTTP proxy to support WebDAV. RFC 2518
fully defines the set of extensions to the HTTP protocol to support WebDAV.
The HTTP proxy supports the following three WebDAV extensions:

Prerequisites
Complete the following task before beginning this procedure.

To enable support for WebDAV

In the SGMI, in the left pane, under Assets, click
Proxies
.

In the right pane, on the Proxies tab, click the HTTP proxy, and then click
Properties
.

In the Proxy Properties dialog box, on the General tab, check
Enable WebDAV
.

Click
OK
.

Optionally, do one of the following:

To save your configuration now and activate later, on the toolbar, click
Save
.

To activate your configuration now, on the toolbar, click
Activate
.
When prompted to save your changes, click
Yes
.

Enabling an external Web proxy
An external Web proxy is an application that stores cached copies of Web pages. You can configure the
security gateway’s HTTP proxy to use an external Web proxy when looking up URLs. To make use of an
external proxy for Web page inquiries, use the procedure in this section. Changes you make take affect
immediately after the configuration is saved and activated.
