Customizing protocols in a service group
This procedure provides a general description of how to customize protocols in service groups. The
steps in it can be followed to customize any protocol that is configurable through a service group.
Prerequisites
Complete the following task before beginning this procedure:

To customize protocols in a service group

In the SGMI, in the left pane, under Assets, click
Protocols
.

In the right pane, on the Service Groups tab, select the service group that contains the protocol that
you want to customize, and then click
Properties
.

In the Service Group Properties dialog box, on the Protocols tab, highlight the protocol that you
want to customize. Not all protocols can be customized.
If a protocol can be customized, the Configure button becomes active.

Click
Configure
.

In the parameters properties dialog box for the protocol, use the available fields to customize the
behavior of the protocol.

When you are finished customizing the protocol, click
OK
.

In the service group properties dialog box, click
OK
.

Optionally, do one of the following:

To save your configuration now and activate later, on the toolbar, click
Save
.
■
To activate your configuration now, on the toolbar, click
Activate
.
When prompted to save your changes, click
Yes
.

To control traffic using the protocols in the service group, add the service group to a rule.
