Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions and safety information carefully. If you do
not follow the safety information and information on proper handling in these
operating instructions, we will assume no liability for any resulting personal
injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
a General information
• Unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is prohibited for
safety and approval reasons. Do not open/disassemble! It contains no customer-
serviceable parts.
• Maintenance, adjustment or repair work may only be carried out by an expert/
authorised service centre, which is familiar with the hazards involved and the
relevant regulations.
• This product is built according to protection class I. It may only be connected
and operated with a protective contact mains socket of the public mains network.
• The mains socket to which the product is connected must be easily accessible.
• The product is equipped with a child safety lock. Only when the prongs of the
interconnection are placed in both openings of a front socket at the same time will
the child-lock mechanism release the opening. Nevertheless, exercise particular
caution when children are present. Children do not understand the hazards
associated with the incorrect use of electrical devices. There is a risk of fatal
electric shock!
• Do not leave the packaging material lying around carelessly as it may be a danger
to children.
• Handle the product carefully. It can be damaged by impact, blows, or by being
dropped, even from a low height.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are
to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in the operating instructions,
please contact our technical department or another specialist.
b Operating location
• The product may only be used in dry, enclosed spaces. It must not get damp or
wet. Never place the product in direct vicinity of a bathroom, shower, bathtub, etc.
Danger of death due to electric shock!
• The product is not a toy and is not for children! Position the product so it is out of
the reach of children.
• The product must not be exposed to extremes of temperature, direct sunlight or
strong vibrations.
• Do not operate the device in environments where there are high levels of dust,
flammable gases, vapours or solvents. There is a danger of fire and explosion!
• Never use the product in a vehicle.
c Handling and use
• Observe the safety and operating instructions of the devices connected to the
product.
• Never remove the mains plug from the power socket of the product by pulling on
the power cord. Grasp the plug by the side gripping surfaces and pull it out of the
power socket.
• Never overload the product. Note the maximum power rating for electrical loads
in chapter “Technical Data”.
• Do not plug several Wi-Fi measuring sockets in a row.
• Plug the Wi-Fi measuring socket directly into a mains socket, do not use an
extension cord or a multiple socket adapter.
• Do not operate while covered! At higher connected loads, the product becomes
warm, which can lead to overheating and potentially a fire if covered!
• De-energised only if unplugged!
• Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
• Never grasp the product or mains plug you are about to insert into the power
socket of the product with moist or wet hands. There is a danger of a life-
threatening electric shock!
• Never connect the product to the mains immediately after it has been brought
from a cold room into a warm one (e.g. after being transported). The condensation
that develops in such cases could damage the device or cause an electric shock!
Let the product reach room temperature first. Wait until the condensation has
evaporated; this may take several hours. Only after this may the product be
connected to the power supply and put into use.

Intended use
The product is intended for switching and measuring the power consumption of mains-operated
devices. For this purpose, the product is inserted between the mains socket and the electrical
load and requires no further installation work.
Operation or programming is carried out via Wi-Fi using the “
Smart Living
” app. This app must
be installed on a smartphone or tablet. A free account is necessary to use this app. The account
is created during the initial setup of the app.
Operation is only allowed with a standard household protective contact mains socket. The max.
admissible power rating of the connected load must not be exceeded (see chapter “Technical
Data”).
The measuring device is not officially calibrated and therefore must not be used for billing
purposes.
It may only be used in dry indoor locations. The product must not become damp or wet.
The product must not be modified or reassembled! Always observe the safety information in
these instructions.
If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, it may be damaged.
In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as an electric shock, short circuit, fire, etc.
Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Pass on the product
to third parties only along with the product documentation.
