 Operating Instructions

Wi-Fi Motion Sensor

Item no: 2523276

1 Intended use

The product is a battery-powered infrared (PIR) motion sensor. Use the product to detect
motion and control devices that are linked to the product.

The product can be configured and contolled via the TUYA mobile app and the local W-Fi
network. Important features include:

Rules that control the behaviour of devices that are linked to the product

Battery status indication

The product has an IP65 ingress protection rating and is protected from dust and low pres-
sure water jets from any direction. The product is suitable for outdoor use. Do not submerge
the product in water.

If you use the product for purposes other than those described, the product may be dam-
aged.

Improper use can result in short circuits, fires, or other hazards.

The product complies with the statutory national and European requirements.

For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product.

Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product
available to third parties only together with the operating instructions.

5 Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on
proper handling, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or
damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.

5.1 General

The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous
playing material for children.

If you have questions which remain unanswered by this information product, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.

Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician or an
authorised repair centre.

5.2 Handling

Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.

5.3 Operating environment

Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.

Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, steam
and solvents.

5.4 Drilling

When penetrating the surface (example: drilling or inserting fasteners), make
sure no cables or pipes are damaged. Inadvertently penetrating electric cables
causes the life-threatening danger of an electric shock! Check for concealed
wires and pipes before drilling or inserting fasteners.

5.5 Batteries

Correct polarity must be observed while inserting batteries.

The batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of time
to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns
when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted
batteries.

Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around, as
there is risk, that children or pets swallow them.

All batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new batteries in the
device can lead to battery leakage and device damage.

Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never recharge non-
rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!

5.6 Operation

Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the
product.

If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and pro-
tect it from any accidental use. DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself. Safe op-
eration can no longer be guaranteed if the product:

– is visibly damaged,

– is no longer working properly,

– has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or

– has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.

7 Getting started

7.1 Installing batteries

Preconditions:

Prepare the required number of batteries of the correct type as stated in the section
“Technical data”.

1. Remove the screws from the back of the product.

2. Remove the battery compartment cover. Be careful not to damage the seal around the

cover.

3. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment observing the polarity markings in the

compartment.

4. Replace the battery compartment cover. Make sure the seal around the battery compart-

ment cover is seated properly.

5. Tighten the screws.

7.2 Adding product to mobile app

For mobile app control, you must add the product to the app and connect it to a suitable
Wi-Fi network.

Important:

The product can only be connected to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Preconditions:

The TUYA mobile app “Smart Life - Smart Living” is installed on your mobile device.

a

The product is within the range of the Wi-Fi network.

a

Your mobile device is near the product.

1. On your mobile device, activate Wi-Fi.

2. On your mobile device, activate Bluetooth and the location.

3. Connect your mobile device to the Wi-Fi network to which you intend to connect the

product.

4. At the rear of the product, hold down the pairing button until the indicator light flashes.

5. Open the mobile app.

6. Tap on 

+

 to add a new product.

7. Tap on 

Auto Scan

 to find the new product.

8. Wait for the auto scan function to list the product.

9. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the product.

You have added the product to the mobile app and connected the product to the Wi-Fi
network.

You can now control the product via the mobile app.
