Installation Windows 2000/XP
Insert the 3-port FireWire 800 PC card in the laptop. Windows will automatically detect the PC card and install it with the built-in TI OHCI drivers.
In order to fully use the FireWire 800 (1394b) as a standard, you must install the driver of the CD-ROM afterwards. This can be selected from
the autorun menu.
In the event that the autorun menu does not appear, it can also be started manually. In order to do this, open ‘My computer’ and go to X:\driver\
(X being the letter of your CD-ROM drive). Here the ‘Setup.exe’ file will be located, double-click this file and follow the instructions.
The installation will start automatically, although Windows may ask for confirmation prior to installing the hardware:
Here select the option “Continue Anyway”.
The hardware has been installed successfully and is ready to be used. The 3-port FireWire 800 PC card offers sufficient capacity for self-powered
FireWire devices. In the event you wish to use bus-powered FireWire devices, we advise you to connect an external power supply (DC 12V, 1A).
