HOW TO USE
BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove all packaging and wash the pans in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry
thoroughly. The pans are OK to put in the dishwasher. DO NOT IMMERSE THE
BASE IN WATER OR RUN UNDER THE TAP
WOK COOKING
Put the Party Wok in the middle of the table.
Before your guests arrive: Cut the meat and vegetables into small pieces
so as to reduce the cooking time. It is best to put these in small bowls, so
your guests can select from these. Chop the raw meat and set aside it on a
plate or a wooden board, You can cook all food in the wok pans, fry eggs or
potatoes and many other things. You may serve the grilled meat with different
sauces, salad or French baguette.
Start with the thicker pieces of meat/vegetables first. Cook the smaller/leafy
vegetables last.
OIL
Use good quality nut oil for that authentic Chinese flavour. If you cannot
use nut oil, select an oil that has a high smoke point. The smoke point is
the temperature at which the oil breaks down. High smoke point oils include:
grapeseed, canola, corn, soyabean & coconut oil.
GRILLING
On the plate you can use the round indented circles for cooking eggs or
pancakes. Also you can grill your larger pieces of meat on this circle (when
not using it for wok-cooking)
ESSENTIAL INGREDIENTS FOR CHINESE COOKING
1. As mentioned above, use a good quality nut oil
2. Ginger. You can use fresh ginger cut into bery small strips or pieces - or
use minced ginger from a jar. Use no more than 1/4 teaspoon full per
wok
3. Garlic. As above you can use fresh or minced from a jar. Again usually
1/4 teaspoon per wok is more than enough
4. Spring onion. Usually finely chopped
5. Light soy sauce. Light soy is good for flavour. Dark soy is best for colour.
Add near end of cooking to avoid burning the soy!
6. Rice wine. Use sparingly to get that authentic Chinese taste!
PANCAKE MIX
• 100g plain flour
• 250ml milk
• 1 medium egg
• Pinch of salt
Whisk all ingredients together in a suitable jug. Pour very small amount on
cooking plate and allow to spread slowly to edge of recess. Turn once during
cooking. Best consistency for you mixture is similar thickness to single cream.
