HD Sports

Main Camera Body (back)

RECORD button

Press the RECORD button to start and stop VIDEO recording.

Green indicator light

The green indicator light flashes during recording.

POWER switch

Powers the camera off or on.

Microphone

Captures audio from the environment.

POWER/CHARGING 
light

Red light which glows red when the unit is ON and flashes when the unit 
is charging.

LCD display

This displays various information even when the TFT screen is not attached.
See “The LCD display” on page 18 for more information.
Note: Nothing appears on the LCD display when the unit is in Standby 
mode .

SNAPSHOT button

Press the SNAPSHOT button to take a PHOTO.
The SNAPSHOT button also starts and stops continous PHOTO mode.

VOX switch

Puts the camera into voice-activated mode.
When VOX is set to ON, the camera will begin recording when it detects  
sound above 65db.
See “VOX recording” on page 26

Speaker

The internal speaker for playing back AUDIO and VIDEO from the unit.

Micro-SD slot

This is the micro-SD slot where you insert your micro-SD storage card to 
store the photos and video the camera captures.

Mini-USB port

The mini-USB port. You can use this port to connect the camera to a mains 
power outlet for charging (using the supplied USB to power adaptor) or for 
transferring files to your computer (using the USB cable provided).

Lanyard hole

Use this to thread through the strap provided or a lanyard for carrying the 
camera around a wrist or neck.

Getting Started

LCD screen attachment

LCD screen

This displays the image the camera can see.
It can also display the OPTIONS menu for easy adjustment.

M (Menu) button

Pressing this brings up the MENU system allowing you to adjust OPTIONS for 
the CAMCORDER mode, CAMERA mode and SYSTEM.

+ - < > buttons

Use these directional buttons to move up/down and left/right in the OPTIONS 
menu and to navigate through items during PLAYBACK (see “Playback 
controls” on page 28)

OK button

Confirms a selection.

PLAYBACK button

Press this button to access the PLAYBACK features as described in “Playback 
and Live viewing” on page 27.

PUSH button

Press this to release the LCD screen from the main body.
