OPERATION GUIDELINES
It is important to ensure the correct plug adaptor is used when operating in a country not
using the UK 13 Amp socket system. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
Remove the locking lid by turning anti-clockwise. Fill the urn with at least enough
water to cover the element and reach the tap. Do not fill above the 8 litre MAX mark
on the viewing window.
Once filled, ensure the lid is firmly closed. Place the lid on top of the urn and turn it
clockwise to lock it into position
Plug in and switch on at the wall socket.
Turn the thermostat knob clockwise to position 5. The indicator light will illuminate.
When the water has boiled, turn the simmertat control to the desired setting between
MIN and 4. Setting 2-3 is generally OK for tea and coffee and makes good use of this
energy saving feature.
Tips
●
Use caution when pouring water from the urn, as hot water can scald. Do not pour
the water too quickly
●
Do not open the lid when in operation as steam may escape from the top
●
Steam may escape from the steam holes on top of the urn. Exercise caution at all
times
●
Always empty the urn before moving to a new position/location and never carry the
urn when in operation. Always use the handles to carry the urn.
●
Always allow adequate space above the urn keeping it away from materials that
could be damaged by prolonged steam contact.
Cleaning and Maintenance

This product requires very little maintenance. However, if you live in a hard water area,
it will be necessary to de-scale the product from time to time. Most supermarkets sell
de-scaling tablets, powders or liquids. These are inexpensive, easy to use and perfect
for ensuring your urn provides many years of faithful service. An excessive build up of
limescale will damage your urn and increase the boiling time/electricity consumption!

For cleaning external surfaces, a soft cloth moistened with a mild detergent solution is
all that is required.

DO NOT USE ABRASIVE OR STRONG CHEMICAL CLEANERS
•
DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE PRODUCT IN WATER
•
ALWAYS ENSURE THE PRODUCT IS UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS SUPPLY
AND COOL BEFORE CLEANING.
