5.2.4 Look-up table
The look-up table feature (LUT) lets the user define certain values
to every bit value that comes from the ADC. To visualize a LUT a
curve diagram can be used, similar to the diagrams used in photo
editing software.
The shown custom curve indicates a contrast increase by apply-
ing an S-shaped curve. The maximum resolution is shifted to the
mid-range. Contrasts in this illumination range is increased while
black values will be interpreted more black and more of the bright
pixels will be displayed as 100 % white.

INFO LUT implementation reduces bit depth from 12 bit to 8 bit on the output.
Gamma correction
Using the look-up table makes is also possible to implement a logarithmic cor-
rection. This is commonly called “gamma correction”.
