Oil Pan and Oil Pump Strainer Components

Oil Pan and Oil Pump Strainer Removal and
Installation

Removal
1) Remove oil level gauge.
2) Remove exhaust No.1 pipe and exhaust manifold
stiffener referring to “Exhaust Pipe Removal and
Installation in Section 1K in related manual”.
3) Drain engine oil by removing drain plug.
4) Remove transaxle lower stiffener referring to
“Manual Transaxle Unit Dismounting and
Remounting in Section 5B in related manual” or
“Automatic Transaxle Unit Dismounting and
Remounting in Section 5A”.
5) Remove oil pan bolts and nuts.
6) Cut sealant at hatched part shown in figure using
special tool and hammer (1).
Special tool
(A): 09921–96510
NOTE
Be careful not to damage stud bolt (3)
between oil pan and cylinder block when
cutting sealant.
7) Remove oil pan (2) from cylinder block.

3. O-ring
8. Oil pan nut
: Tighten 11 N
⋅
m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.0 lb-ft) by the specified procedure.
“a”: 3 mm (0.12 in.)
4. Gasket
9. Oil pan bolt
: Tighten 11 N
⋅
m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.0 lb-ft) by the specified procedure.
“b”: 2 mm (0.08 in.)
5. Drain plug
: Tightening torque
1. Oil pan
: Apply sealant 99000-31250 to mating surface.
6. Strainer bolt
: Do not reuse.
