3-11 ENGINE
STARTER MOTOR
• Remove the starter motor.
CAMSHAFT SPROCKET/AUTOMATIC DECOMP.
• Remove the valve timing inspection plug

and generator
cover plug

.
• Remove the camshaft sprocket cover
3
and gasket.
• Turn the generator rotor with a box wrench to set the piston at
TDC on the compression stroke. (Turn the generator rotor
until the line
A
on the generator rotor is at the center of the
hole in the valve timing inspection plug.)
• Align the mark
B
on the camshaft sprocket with the concave
line
C
of the cylinder head.
