SATA Device Type
Use this item to specify if the device installed on the SATA port selected by the user should
be connected to a Solid State drive or a Hard Disk Drive. The options are
Hard Disk Drive
and Solid State Drive.
PCH sSATA Confi guration
When this submenu is selected, AMI BIOS automatically detects the presence of the sSATA
devices that are supported by the PCH sSATA controller and displays the following items:
sSATA Controller
This item enables or disables the onboard sSATA controller supported by the Intel PCH. The
options are
Enable
and Disable.
Confi gure sSATA as
Select AHCI to confi gure an sSATA drive specifi ed by the user as an AHCI drive. Select RAID
to confi gure an sSATA drive specifi ed by the user as a RAID drive. The options are
AHCI
and RAID. (
Note:
This item is hidden when the sSATA Controller item is set to Disabled.)
SATA HDD Unlock (Available when the item: sSATA Controller is set to Enable)
Select Enable to unlock sSATA HDD password in the OS. The options are
Enable
and Disable.
sSATA RSTe Boot Info (Available when the item: "Confi gure sSATA as" is set to RAID)
Select Enable to provide the full int13h support for sSATA controller attached devices. The
options are Disable and
Enable
.
Aggressive Link Power Management
When this item is set to Enable, the sSATA AHCI controller manages the power use of the
SATA link. The controller will put the link in a low power mode during an extended period of
I/O inactivity, and will return the link to an active state when I/O activity resumes. The options
are
Disable
and Enable.
sSATA RAID Option ROM/UEFI Driver (Available when the item: Confi gure sSATA as
is set to RAID)
Select EFI to load the EFI driver for system boot. Select Legacy to load a legacy driver for
system boot. The options are Disable, EFI, and
Legacy
.
sSATA Port 0 - sSATA Port 3
Hot Plug
Select Enable to support Hot-plugging for the device installed on an sSATA port selected by
the user which will allow the user to replace the device installed in the slot without shutting
down the system. The options are
Disable
and Enabled.
