CMOS Clear
JBT1 is used to clear CMOS. In-
stead of pins, this jumper consists
of contact pads to prevent acci-
dental clearing of CMOS. To clear
CMOS, use a metal object such as
a small screwdriver to touch both
pads at the same time to short the
connection. Always remove the
AC power cord from the system
before clearing CMOS. JBT1 is lo-
c a t e d n e a r t h e b a t t e r y o n t h e
motherboard.
Note: For an ATX power supply,
you must completely shut down
the system, remove the AC power
cord and then short JBT1 to clear
CMOS.
Do not use the PW_ON
connector to clear CMOS.

Explanation of
Jumpers
T o m o d i f y t h e o p e r a t i o n o f t h e
motherboard, jumpers can be used
t o c h o o s e b e t w e e n o p t i o n a l
settings. Jumpers create shorts
between two pins to change the
function of the connector. Pin 1 is
identified with a square solder pad
on the printed circuit board. See
the motherboard layout pages for
jumper locations.
N o t e : O n t w o p i n j u m p e r s ,
"Closed" means the jumper is on
and "Open" means the jumper is
off the pins. "Off" means open
with no jumper cap included for
those pins.
