Chapter 2: Installation
TPM Header/Port 80 Connector (TPM Port)
The JTPM1 header is used to connect a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which is available from
a third-party vendor. A TPM is a security device that supports encryption and authentication in
hard drives. It enables the motherboard to deny access if the TPM associated with the hard
drive is not installed in the system.

Expansion Slots
The motherboard includes six expansion slots (Slot1 through Slot6). Slots 1, 3 and 5 are
PCIe 4.0 x8 slots and Slots 2, 4 and 6 are PCIe 4.0 x16 slots.
SuperDOM
The SUPERDOM1 and SUPERDOM2 ports are Supermicro SATA DOM (Disk on Module)
ports. SuperDOM, is a small SATA3 (6Gb/s) flash memory module that conveniently inserts
directly into the mothrboard.
Battery
The onboard battery provides backup power to the on chip CMOS, which stores the BIOS'
setup information. It also provides power to the Real Time Clock (RTC) to keep it running.
