FlowClear 20.000 Pond Filter with integrated UVC
GB
Please read carefully through these instructions for use before installing this filter.
The 3-chamber filter is a biological filter that guarantees the quality of your pond water and ensures a good biological balance in your pond. The
UV-C Budget 3-chamber filter filters and disinfects your pond water at the same time, ensuring quick results and the optimal purification of the
water. The water enters the first chamber of the filter and is pushed upwards along the UV-C 40 watt plunger and through the filter materials
(honeycomb and filter foam). This movement is repeated in the second and third chamber. The UV-C radiation ensures that bacteria, germs and
floating algae have no chance to develop, thereby guaranteeing the clarity of your pond water.
Operation
Drawing A:
The water enters the filter via the 32 mm hose adaptor (
A
) with counter-nut (
B
), and is pushed upwards along the UV-C lamp (
C
) into
the first chamber. The water flows over the partition via the filter basket (
D
) and the filter foam (
E
), and is then guided down again. This movement
is repeated in the second and third chamber, after which the water flows out of the filter through the 63 mm outlet (
N
).
The UV-C plunger provides clean, fresh and clear pond water in an efficient, safe and environmentally-friendly manner. The device generates UV-C
radiation at a wavelength of 253.7 nm through the special T5 UV lamp. The UV-C radiation neutralises bacteria (incl. the Legionella bacteria), viruses
and other primitive organisms and prevents them from reproducing. The UV-C plunger has an electronic ballast for a constant power supply. This
device can easily be installed and maintained.
The supplied filter materials (filter baskets (
D
) and a coarse / medium /fine filter mat set (
E
)) ensure an excellent mechanic and biological operation.
In addition, the filter basket (
D
) acts as a grid, enabling the waste particles to sink slowly to the bottom of the filter. The waste particles leave the
filter via the waste outlet (
F
) at the bottom of the filter.
Technical specifications
Capacity of the 3-chamber filter:
220L
Pond content:
15.000L
Maximum pump capacity:
8.000 L/hour
UV-C T5 lamp:
40W (= 15W UV-C output)
Operating hours of the lamp:
8.000
UV-C power supply:
230V AC 50/60 Hz
It is important to remember that a pump’s rate of flow diminishes in direct proportion to the height difference that the water has to overcome. The first step
when choosing a pump is therefore to consider the difference in height between the water surface of your pond and the place where the filter is located. In
case of doubt, consult your pond specialist.
Assembly
Select the place where you want to fit the filter. The filter should be located where it can be easily reached for maintenance.
Drawing A:
• The filter baskets (
D
) are supplied with the filter in a tilted position. They must be placed in the position shown in the drawing.
• Screw the frog point (
G
) of the 1½” tap into one of the three openings (
F
) of the sludge collection areas where the waste is to be collected. The
other 2 openings must be sealed with plugs (
H
). Some Teflon tape can be used as additional sealing.
• Hand-tighten all the plastic parts without using excessive force. If excessive force is applied while tightening, this could cause the plastic material
to crack and this is not covered by the warranty.
• Use hard PVC glue to connect the slide valve (
I
) (supplied with the set) to the adaptor (
G
). If required, connect a discharge hose or pipe from the
slide valve to the sewage system or the area where you wish to discharge the sludge.
• Fit the two pipes (
J
) between the filter walls in the holes provided for that purpose. The pipes must remain installed as long as the filter is in
operation.
Drawing B:
• The 32mm inlet hose barb (
A
) and sealing ring (
K
), on the outside of the filter, are fastened with the nut (
B
) (on the inside of the filter).
Drawing C:
• Slide the O-ring (
R
) up to the thicker area at the end of the quartz glass (
S
).
• Drawing 1: Then slide the quartz glass (
S
) as a whole into the lead-through (
T
: already pre-mounted in the filter); ensure that the O-ring (
R
) is
locked in to make the connection watertight. Carry this out carefully and deliberately.
