Curves
Full speed turns should not be a
tt
empted. If you need to turn
sharply you must reduce your speed with the joystick or speed
setting. This is particularly imp
ort
ant when traveling across or
down a slope. Disregarding this advice could lead to your
wheelchair tipping

Breaking
and
Emergency stop
• In certain circumstances your wheelchair could become
unstable.
• When going uphill, keep the chair moving.
• Steer by carefully moving the joystick
f
orwards making slight
Left and Rig
h
t adjustments as you go.
• If you have stopped on a hill, you should start slowly.
• If necessary lean forward.
Gradients: descents:
On descents, it is important not to let the wheelchair accelerate
beyond its normal level of ground speed.

Driving on a slope
• Stopping distances on slopes can be signifi
c
antly longer
than
on level ground.
• Do not use the stand-up on slopes or uneven surfaces.
• Standing, elevatin

, tilting
,
and leg
r
est adjustments can
a
ff
ect the wheelchair cent
er
of gravity. Under certain
conditions this mig
h
t cause instability that could lead to
unintentional tipping. It
ma
y be necessary to carry out a risk
assessment if the wheelchair is adjusted to extremes.
Your wheelchair has been designed and tested to allow its use
on slopes or gradients of up to 7.5° for 6 mph and 9° for 8 mph
in standard configuration. However, you have the option of
adjusting your position with the standing option, powered
center mount leg rest, or a combination of these options.
• Before a

Simplest and safest way to stop the wheelchair is to release
the joystick. This will bring the chair
t
o a halt in a
controlled
manner.
Pulling back the joystick will b
rake
the chair abruptly with a
fast stop.
Switching the control system off
whilst
the chair is in
motion will also bring the chair
t
o a halt.
• Switching the control system off is only
t
o be used in an
emergency situation as the
s
topping action is
v
ery abrupt.
• Never try to stop or slow this seating
s
ystem with the
wheel locks (if applicable). Wheel locks are designed to
prevent the system from moving when stopped. They are
not brakes.
• We strongly recommend that you return the seat and back to
their home positions b
