Maintenance and Care of your Canvas Canopy
: While the canvas canopy is extremely durable and water repellant.
The Summerhouse Pergola is recommended for shade and shelter from the sun in addition to *light rain and wind.
Please use good judgment, as the elements and seasons vary from region to region.
It is recommended to remove the canopy top when:
Not in seasonal use
If temperature will drop below freezing (32°Fahrenheit /0°Celsius)
If you live in an exceptionally rainy region or experience more than average amounts of precipitation.
If will be experiencing torrential rain or torrential downpour**
Winds
sustained at 40-50 mph
*If light rain persists or increases over an extended period of time, please remove the canopy top to prevent water
build up between the middle roof support beams.
**Torrential rain or a torrential downpour is any amount of rain that is considered especially heavy. National
Weather Service (NWS) defines heavy rainfall as rain that accumulates at a rate of 3 tenths of an inch (0.3 inches)
or more per hour.
