and with plastic wrap or a plastic bag cover-
ing your finger,
completely wrap the center
joint of the wing (top and bottom) with 2-1/2 “
nylon tape, smoothing a liberal amount of glue
into the fabric, as you go.
Cut a hole for the dowel and, when the wing is
fully wrapped, trim off any excess tape.
AILERON
1.
Referring to the plan, determine the aileron cut
lines and transfer onto the bottom sheeting of
the wing trailing edge.
Then, carefully cut through the sheeting, as
shown.
2.
Using a straight-edge, remove a strip of sheet-
ing between the two aft spars, as shown.
3.
Using a razor saw, cut through the ribs and the
T.E., between the two aft spars, to separate
the ailerons from the wing.
Mark “top right” and “top left” on the root end
of each aileron, so that you will know which
piece fits into the left wing half and right right
wing half.
4.
Trim the sheeting back flush with the aft spars
on both the aileron and the wing.
Flat sand along the entire length of the spar.
