Operate power switch of the machine.
The machine is fitted with a stardelta switch.
Switch at star position: This serves only to protect the
electrical components (machine and power cord) from
too high a starting current. The machine may not be oper-
ated with the switch at the star position (overload).
Switch at delta position: Only at this position is full powr
provided. Always start the machine with the switch at the
star position. Do not switch directly from «0» to delta.

Threat and store abrasives appropriately.

During operation avoid sharp bendings of the flex-
ible shaft. Excessively small bend radii will result
in premature wear. Strong whipping movements
and convulsions of the flexible shaft are signs of overload-
ing. As countermeasures use smaller tool or increase ro-
tational speed. However, this only in stict observation of
the instructions on the maximum allowed circumferential
speed of the respective tool.

Before any maintenance work is carried
out, pull out the power connector!
Dry the machine and keep clean in stor-
age.
Keep cooling air openings unclogged.
Regularly check connection line. Have defective lines or
connectors replaced. Replacing the connection line in-
volves certain hazards to safety so this must be attached
by the manufacturer or its agent.
Do not spray down with water. Clean surface with lightly
moistened rags.
In case the machine is operated in one gear position only
one must at least once a week switch through all posi-
tions for a brief period in order to redistribute the grease
for l ong gear service life (run without flexibel shaft and
handpiece).

Store flexible shafts in dry and clean condition.
New or freshly greased shafts require a run-in
time of pprox. 1 hour.
In case of daily use lubricate monthly:
Pull shaft core out of protective tubing. Remove old shaft
grease. Lubricate shaft core with shaft grease only lightly
(1 kg can, order no. 904 832). Replace worn shaft core
(see SUHNER catalog). Keep hose coupling in clean,
lightly greased condition. Replace worn couplings (see
SUHNER catalog).
