When the system is malfunctioning (front passenger’s front airbag
manual cut off switch in OFF position)

Front passenger’s front airbag manual ON-OFF indicator
When the system is functioning normally and engine switch is turned to the
“ON” position (vehicles without a keyless access with push button start sys-
tem), or the push-button ignition switch is turned to “ON” mode (vehicles with
a keyless access with push button start system), both the ON and OFF indi-
cators of the front passenger’s front airbag manual ON-OFF indicator illumi-
nate for 6 seconds. After that, both the ON and OFF indicator lights turn off
for 2 seconds. Then, either the ON or OFF indicator light illuminates depend-
ing on the status of the front passenger’s front airbag manual cut off switch.
If the system is malfunctioning, the OFF indicator light illuminates regardless
of the condition of the front passenger’s front airbag manual cut off switch
when the engine switch is turned to the “ON” position (vehicles without a
keyless access with push button start system), or the push-button ignition
switch is turned to “ON” mode (vehicles with a keyless access with push but-
ton start system).
If a system malfunction has occurred, move the front passenger to the rear
seat. Then, have the vehicle inspected by your SUBARU dealer immedi-
ately.
