HEAD PANEL–MATTRESS REPLACEMENT
HEAD PANEL–MATTRESS KIT #88–0316–10–00
Required Tools:
7/32” Allen Wrench Phillips Screwdriver
Side (Wire) Cutter
Replacement Procedure:
1. Raise head panel to approximately 30

2. Raise bed to the full up position.
CAUTION
Disconnect power plug from wall receptacle.
3. Remove headboard, foot mattress, foot extension, foot pans, I.V. pole and leg supports.
4. Set brake with casters turned as though the bed is being pushed backwards. The casters at the head end
of the bed must be five feet away from the wall.
5. Unfasten Velcro strap and remove over–mattress cover.
6. Cut tie–wraps to free tubing (note routing of tubing to ensure it will be reinstalled properly).
7. Behind the head panel, separate the head mattress vinyl tubing at the middle of the two inch ”J” clip.
8. Remove the eight cap screws from the head panel support arms to release the head panel assembly with
mattress.
9. Feed lumbar tubing line through litter access hole and place head panel base ribs in support arm tracks.
Avoid kinking or pinching tubing.
10. Install the eight cap screws.
11. With barb supplied in kit, match and cut tubing and splice together.
12. Replace over–cover and pull it taut with the Velcro strap.
13. Plug the power cord into the wall receptacle. Run through all functions on the hand pendant at least three
times to ensure proper operation. Check for proper cable routing and attachment to prevent interference.
14. Remount all items removed in step three and return bed to service.
