The centring for the slot of the carrier (4) may have a max. lateral and round run-out of 0,05 mm, based on the
shaft. When disengaged, the air gap between the spur gearings of the armature plate (3) and the inner body (2)
must be adhered to uniformly in size according to the table.

NOTE
Armature plates and coil bodies are allocated to one another by Stromag and cannot be replaced with
any armature plate or coil body. Therefore, components that belong to one another are marked with
the order and serial number.
Carriers and inner bodies must be secured against axial displacement, so that the adjusted air gap
between the spur gearings of the inner body and armature plate is maintained.
6.3.3
Tightening torques
Tightening torques can be obtained from the dimensional drawing, see section 4.3.
6.3.4
Requirements for the connecting components
The following requirements for the connecting components must be fulfilled:
• Shape and condition of the connecting components must comply with the dimensional drawing, see sec-
• The alignment tolerances must be fulfilled, see section 6.3.2.
6.3.5
Oil quality in wet operation
NOTICE
Damage to the clutch due to unsuitable oils
The use of unsuitable oils can lead to the clutch malfunctioning.
► When using the clutch in wet operation inside gearboxes, the viscosity of the oil may not exceed
38 x 10
−6
m

/s at 50 °C. Thick oil can reduce the transmissible torque and due to its stickiness,
delay the release of the armature plate. Recommended oils include those that are acid-free, non-
ageing, not very foamy and free of residues. The clutches must not be immersed in the oil bath.
The oil mist is sufficient for lubrication.
► For lubrication, a magnet filter should be provided or at least a permanent magnet pin should be
put in the oil bath in order to keep steel panes, which could lead to deposits in the spur teething
ring, away from this. The oil must be checked and replaced at regular intervals. Heavy contamina-
tion leads to clogging of the spur teething ring and as such to malfunctions.
6.3.6
Grease quality in dry operation
NOTICE
Damage to the clutch due to unsuitable grease
The use of unsuitable grease can lead to the clutch malfunctioning.
► When using the clutches in dry operation, grease-filled grooved ball bearings are fitted and the
spacer rings are designed in such a way that they form a corresponding seal. The grease filling
consists of the "Staburags NBU 8 EP" grease by the Klüber company. Alternatively, grease-filled,
sealed bearings (2RS) can be fitted on both sides.
