6.1
Special safety guidelines
CAUTION
Risk of accidents caused by live components
For all work on components or individual parts, the machine must be switched off and secured
against non-intended reconnection.
Check that the machine is de-energised before beginning the work.
CAUTION
Risk of accidents caused by rotating components
Risk of entanglement in the area between the GCLS and the machine due to rotating components.
The operator must install a covering above the connecting flange.
NOTICE
Damage to the machine due to the incorrect adjustment of the GCLS
When the GCLS has not been adjusted, traverse movements of the machine can lead to damage.
Before commissioning the machine, always adjust the GCLS first in accordance with the
specifica tions in the mounting/operating instructions.
The installation regulations applicable on-site and the mounting instructions of the machine manufacturer must be
observed.
6.2
Conditions for assembly and fixing
Required assembly space:

1.4 times the length of the housing
Assembly sequence:
•
Mechanical assembly, see section 6.3.
•
Electrical connection, see section 6.4.
•
Switching point adjustment, see section 6.6.
•
Completion of the housing, see section 6.7.
6.2.1
Special tools
A special tool is not necessary for standard designs.
6.2.2
Assembly precision
Avoid misalignments and offsets between the drive shaft of the GCLS and the machine.
6.2.3
Tightening torques
Unless otherwise specified, the screws should be tightened according to the tightening torques provided in the
DIN.
Machine and adjacent construction fixing elements must be tightened according to the manufacturer's
instructions.
