3.6 Presser plates
3.6.1 Setting the presser plates
A T T E N T I O N !
Switch off machine electrically.
The feed plate position is given by the symmetrical position of the angle levers to the
plunger. They should tilt easily and fit closely to the stitch plate. The pressure is
approx. 12N, measured at the feed plate center. It can be set individually for either
feed plate at the upper side of the cloth support arm by means of screws.
3.6.2 Setting the presser plate lifting (Fig. 9)
The feed plates are pressed downwards when lifting the cloth support arm. Adjustable
eccentric bolts (1) and (2) serve as limit stop.
With the cloth support arm being, in its highest position there should be a play of
approx. 2 mm between lever and bolt to guarantee a secure pressing of the feed
plates against the stitch plate at any stitch depth setting.
