You must install the RSN console server (and modem, if present) on a flat surface, such
as a table or rack space. Do not place these components on top of a system cabinet.
Figure 2-1 shows the serial cable (number 2 ) between the COM1 port (using the DB-9
connector) of a system’s backplane and serial port 1 (using the RJ-45 connector) on
the console server (number
1 ).
