Introduction
This chapter contains an introduction for servicing the L180 Tape Library and
the basic components in it.

Service Clearances
Figure 1-1 shows the space requirements that you need to service the library.

1. 2.6 m (8.5 ft)
2. 0.8 m (2.6 ft)
3. At all times, make sure at least 51 mm (2 in.) exists on the right and left sides of the library for airflow.
Note: You might want to remove the left side cover when you replace the CAP motor and the theta
motor for easier access. Allow a minimum of 1 m (3.3 ft) to remove the cover.
