Dirty and clogged air filters reduce
engine power, increase fuel
consumption and make starting
more difficult.
The air filter must be cleaned
when there is a noticeable loss
of engine power.
- Close the choke shutter.
- Clean away any loose dirt from
around the filter and filter cover.

Press down the tab.
•
Swing the filter cover downwards
and lift it away.
•
Remove the foam filter.
Wash the foam filter in a clean,
non-flammable solution (e.g. warm
soapy water) and dry.
Note: Replace a damaged foam
filter immediately.
- Soak foam filter in fresh engine
oil and then squeeze out surplus
oil.
- Install foam filter.
•
Engage lugs on filter cover in
filter housing.
- Swing filter cover up so that it
snaps into position.

Important: In the event of trouble
with the carburetor or the fuel
supply system, always check and
clean the tank vent -
The carburetor can be tested for
leaks with the carburetor and
crankcase tester 1106 850 2905.
- Remove the air filter -
•
Pull fuel hose off carburetor’s
elbow connector.
•
Fit fuel hose (1) 1110 141 8600
on nipple (2) 0000 855 9200.
