• Store the machine in a dry place.
• When your machine has to be replaced after
many years of service or is no longer required,
we recommend that it is handed in to your deal-
er for recycling.
ASSEMBLY
LEGS
1. Turn the motor housing upside down.
2. The legs are different on the left and right sides.
Check that the legs are assembled so that they
are angled outwards (fig. 1).
3. Secure the legs on the machine with washers
and screws (fig. 2). Do not tighten the screws
yet.
4. Insert the wheel axle between the legs (fig. 3).
5. Install the wheels on the wheel axle with wheel
sleeves, washers and nuts (fig. 4).
6. Tighten the wheel nuts. Using e.g. an adjustable
wrench, grip the flat slot on the wheel axle and
counterhold (fig. 5).
7. Tighten the legs’ screws properly (fig. 2).
8. Press the wheel caps onto the wheels (fig. 6)
9. Turn the grinder and place it on a flat surface.
FEEDING HOPPER
Thread the feeding hopper onto the compost grind-
er. Ensure that the feeding hopper is pressed down
straight.
Screw the feeding hopper into place using the four
screws and accompanying washers in the follow-
ing order: flat washer, spring washer, screw. (fig.
7).
The compost grinder may not be used un-
der any circumstances unless the feeding
hopper is installed.
USING THE MACHINE
GENERAL
This machine is only intended for private use, not
to be used professionally.
The compost grinder is designed to grind organic
material such as plant residue, twigs, sticks, small
branches, etc.
The grinder must not be used to process
topsoil. This will damage the blades.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Connect the machine to a single phase electric
socket with a protective conductor (earth). The
electric circuit should be fused with a 10A inert
fuse.
Always use a protectively earthed connection ca-
ble intended for outdoor use. The cable’s cross-
section should be at least 3 x 1.5 mm
2
.
The connector (female contact) must be moisture-
proof.
You are recommended to use an earth leakage cir-
cuit breaker which interrupts the current in the
event of something happening to the machine or
connection cable.
If a portable earth leakage circuit breaker (e.g.
STIGA, order no. 8290-9010-01) is used, it should
always be placed between the electric socket and
the connection cable.
Even if an earth leakage circuit breaker is used,
safety cannot be guaranteed. Always follow the
safety instructions provided. Ideally wear shoes
with thick rubber soles.
Test the operation of the earth leakage circuit
breaker before each use.
In the event of unfavourable electrical mains con-
ditions, brief voltage drops can occur when you
start the apparatus which can affect other applianc-
es (e.g. causing lights to flicker).
With a mains impedance of Z

ohm, such disturbances are unlikely.
STARTING THE MOTOR
In order to start the motor, the locking wheel must
be fully screwed in (fig. 8).
Ensure that the grinder is empty before
starting the motor.
Start the motor by pressing the switch, 1 (fig. 9).
Allow the motor to pick up speed properly before
starting to feed in material.
