Selecting the operating mode
The hammer drill can be used in the following
operating modes.
o
Hammer drilling: Simultaneous turning
and hammering when drilling concrete
and masonry.
o
Hammer only: For light chipping,
chiselling and demolition work.
o
Bit rotation: Non-working position,
used to rotate a flat bit into position.

Select the desired operating mode by pressing
the safety button and turning the operating
mode selector until it points to the symbol of
the desired operating mode.
•
Release the safety button and check that the
mode selector switch is locked.
•
Do not select the operating mode while the tool
is running!
In case of suspicious noises, disconnect the
hammer drill from the mains immediately. Have
the hammer drill checked by an authorised
person. Take regular breaks while working -
avoid overheating the hammer drill and the tool.
Lubrication
Before each use of drills or cutters, they must be
thoroughly cleaned and the SDS max chuck
lubricated with a thin layer of grease. It is
recommended to use grease designed for SDS
max chucks. If the hammer mechanism is
operating incorrectly, one of the reasons may be
incorrect lubrication of the gearbox and the
crank assembly of the hammer piston. It is
recommended to use grease designed for gear
and crank assembly. It is recommended to have
grease refilled at an authorised service point.
Hammer drilling - drilling with a solid drill bit
1.
Turn the mode selector to the hammer drilling
position.
2.
For best results, use the appropriate drill; use
high quality carbide tipped drills.
3.
Adjust the side handle as needed.
4.
If necessary, adjust the drilling depth.
5.
Mark the place where the hole is to be drilled.
6.
Place the drill on the spot and switch on the
tool.
7.
Always switch off the tool when the work is
finished and before unplugging it.
Drilling with a hammer drill is only recommended
for compact ceramic materials. In case of drilling
large diameter holes, it is recommended to drill a
smaller pilot hole first and then use a drill with
the final diameter. Use drill bits designed for
drilling with a hammer.
It is not recommended to use the hammer blow
function on ceramic materials with a loose
structure. Drilling with the hammer drill in such
materials can damage the material.
The hammer drill is equipped with a clutch that
prevents the electric motor from being
overloaded if the tool gets jammed during work,
e.g. by hitting a reinforcing wire. In such cases,
the hammer drill stops rotating even though the
electric motor is still working. Excessive pressure
applied to the tool during work can also cause
the clutch to activate. In such cases, remove the
tool from the hole, make sure that the hammer
drill is working properly and then resume work by
applying only the pressure necessary for proper
operation. If a reinforcing rod or other hidden
metallic obstruction is hit, drill it with the hammer
function and a drill bit for metal with the same
diameter as the hammer bit, then continue
drilling in the ceramic material.
Hammering
1.
While the tool is disconnected from the mains,
mount the required tool in the chuck: chisel or
punch.
2.
Set the mode selector to the hammering
position.
3.
Connect the drill to the mains, switch on the
hammer drill with the switch.
4.
Wait until it has reached full speed and start
working.
Do not drive the tool too hard into the material to
be worked during hammering. Hammer the
material in thin layers and do not exert excessive
pressure on the hammer drill.
