Final Assembly Continued

87. Fold  the  acetate  windscreen  along  the  perforations  and  feed  it  into  the

cockpit through the opening in the wing saddle.   Fit the windscreen against
the

FRONT

frame F7 and  the openings in the  fuselage  sides.   Retain the

acetate in position by wicking a few small drops of CA along the edge of the
acetate.   For best  results,  apply  the  CA  from within the cockpit, so that no
glue is visible from outside of the cockpit.

88. Follow the Tape Hinge Diagram on the Detail Sheet and attach the elevator

and rudder to their stabilizers.

Tip:   Tape the surfaces to the table with low

tack masking tape.   Ensure  there  is  a 1/64 in. gap between the stabilizers
and  the  control  surfaces,  and  apply  narrow  strips  of  clear  tape  along  the
hinge line.

89. Install  the  ply  control  horns  to  the  slots  in  the  elevator  and  rudder.    The

rudder  horn  will  extend  from the

RIGHT

side of  the  rudder.    The  elevator

horn will extend from the

LOWER

LEFT

side of the elevator.   Bond with thin

CA glue.

90. Remove  the  covering  from both  sides of  the  horizontal  stabilizer  over  the

large slot  in the

CENTER of  stabilizer

.   Additionally  remove covering  from

the slot at

 TOP REAR

portion of  fuselage (over F18) that  will receive tab on

the vertical fin.

91. Fit the tab on the vertical stabilizer to the slot in the horizontal stabilizer.  The

tab will extend through to the other side, and will engage the slot within F18
at  the

REAR

of  the  fuselage.    Square  the surfaces perpendicular  to  each

other and the fuselage, and bond with medium CA.

92. Follow the Pushrod  Detail  on  the  Detail Sheet  to  connect  the pushrods to

the    control  horns  on  the  rudder  and  elevator.    turn  on  your  radio  and

CENTER

 the trims,  then manually

CENTER

 the control surfaces by  sliding

the  pushrods  through  the  heat  shrink  tube.    When  everything  is  aligned
correctly,  secure the pushrods with a small drop of  thin CA  at  each end  of
the heat shrink tube.

Editors Tip:   Pre-shrink your  tubing used to set  push rod length!   It’s  pretty
dangerous  working  with  heat  next  to  a  covered  model.    Pre-shrink  your
tubing  away  from  your  finished work by  inserting  two  scrap lengths  of  the
push rod wire within tubing, shrink, remove wire, cut to length, and install.

93. Install  a  6  x  3  propellor  [GW/EP6030]  with  a  propellor  adaptor  for  2mm

shafts [EFLM1920].  Propeller may need to be reamed to fit adapter.
