•
Use the lifting columns only on a hard and level floor with sufficient bearing
capacity, see the specifications for floor pressure and floor load in section
Technical specifications.
•
Whenever a vehicle is raised on the lift, always raise the lifts to at least above
the first safety lock.
•
Always lower the lifts into the safety lock before starting any work on the
vehicle or leaving the vehicle unattended.
FOR YOUR AND OTHER PEOPLES SAFETY: SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
WARNING
All accessories supplied with this lift are to be used on this lift only. Accessories
from other lifts are not acceptable and could result in injury to the user.
Information for the user
The users manual or instruction manual for an intentional or unintentional radiator
shall caution the user that changes or modifications not expressly approved by
the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the
equipment. In cases where the manual is provided only in a form other than paper,
such as on a computer disk or over the Internet, the information required by this
section may be included in the manual in that alternative form, provided the user can
reasonably be expected to have the capability to access information in that form.
2.4
Safety features
The vehicle lift has a control and monitoring system, which ensures that:
• The guide blocks always stay at an equal height within the control limits.
• Lowering is halted in the event that obstacles cause an elevation difference to occur.
• The control circuit is interrupted in the event that the height difference between the
guide blocks exceeds a pre-defined value; operation via the push buttons on the
column lift control boxes is then disabled.
• Lifting is halted when the highest position is reached (height safeguard).
• The lowering action stops 30 cm above the floor; if the [DOWN] and [UNLOCK]
buttons are pressed again, the column will be lowered further with an accompanying
acoustic signal; this option (foot protection) can be enabled or disabled; by default it
is disabled.
• Lowering is electro-mechanically blocked in the event of loss of control power or
leakage from the cylinders.
2.4.1
Emergency stop
The red push button on the control box is used as emergency stop switch. In
emergencies, use this switch to halt the vehicle lifts.
If the emergency stop has been used, check:
• Whether anyone is trapped.
• Whether the vehicle lift has been damaged.
