H I G H L I G H T S
Your new tone generator allows you to quickly trace and identify electrical cables, telephone and
data cables. Includes a tone or continuity selector switch and indicator LEDs.
The probes includes a volume control and a power button to activate the trace. Power up by a
9 V battery each.
The instructions of this manual are for reference about the product.
There may be differences due to updates.

Tone generator
1. Continuity indicator LED. Lights on when the equipment is in Continuity mode.
2. Tone indicator LED. Lights on when the equipment is in Tone mode.
3. Function selector. Turns off the equipment / choose the Continuity mode / Choose Tone mode.
4. Test leads. Allows one to connect the cables that you want to test.
5. Modular connector. Allow one to plug into the mating cable connectors.
Receiver
1. On / Off / Volume. Power on - off the equipment / Set the volume level of the speaker.
2. Speaker. It activates when the equipment detects the right cable or connector.
3. Power on button. Press to start testing.
4. Probe tip. Aim the probe tip in the desired place in order to know the right cable in the test.

B A T T E R Y I N S T A L L A T I O N
Before start using the equipment, assure to install one new 9 V alkaline battery in the tone
generator and the probe.
Use a screwdriver to place a new battery on the Amplifier Probe, in order to release the battery
compartment cover.
C A B L E / W I R E T R A C I N G
1. Connect the tone generator to the cable:
- For cables terminated at one end, connect the red alligator clip to a wire and the black alligator
clip to equipment ground.
- For undermined cables, connect the red alligator clip to one wire and the black alligator clip to
another wire.
- For cables with modular connectors, plug the RJ11 connector directly into the mating cable
connector.
2. Set the tone generator function selector button to the TONE position.
3. On the amplifier probe, press and hold the power switch.
4. Hold the insulated probe tip against the wire in question to pick up the signal generated by the
tone generator.
5. Set the volume level to obtain the better signal sent by the tone generator.
6. The tone will be the loudest on the wires connected to the tone generator.
Continuity testing
1. Connect the test leads to the wire pair under test.
2. Switch the tone generator to the CONT position.
3. The indicator LED will lights on when the equipment finds continuity in the wire tested.

WARRANTY
This Steren product is warranted under normal usage against defects in workmanship and materials to the original purchaser for one year from
the date of purchase.
CONDITIONS
1. This warranty card with all the required information, invoice or purchase ticket, product box or package, and product, must be presented when
warranty service is required.
2. If the product is in the warranty time, the company will repair it free of charge.
3. The repairing time will not exceed 30 natural days, from the day the claim was received.
4. Steren sell parts, components, consumables and accessories to customer, as well as warranty service, at any of the addresses mentioned later.
THIS WARRANTY IS VOID IN THE NEXT CASES:
If the product has been damaged by an accident, acts of God, mishandling, leaky batteries, failure to follow enclosed instructions, improper repair by
unauthorized personnel, improper safe keeping, among others.
a) The consumer can also claim the warranty service in the purchase establishment.
b) If you lose the warranty card, we can reissue it, if you show the invoice or purchase ticket.
