Depending on the selected program, objects and temperature, the
whole process takes about 40-60 minutes.
The process is as follows:
•
Heating (display shows "HEAT") - after starting the program, the
unit heats the chamber to the appropriate temperature and
maintains it automatically.
•
Vacuum generation ("VACUUM" displayed) - air is pumped out of
the chamber and steam is injected.
This stage lasts 3 cycles.
•
Depressurizing (on the display:
"DOWN") - under high pressure, air is evacuated from the
chamber.
•
Heating (on display: "UP") - the unit generates the correct
temperature and pressure.
•
Sterilization (on display: "STER") - sterilization takes place and the
display indicates the current sterilization temperature and counts
down its time.
•
Pressure release (on the display:
"DRY") - The pressure is released from the chamber. The display
indicates the temperature and the time to complete this step.
Once the pressure and temperature have been released, the unit
enters the vacuum drying stage.
•
Completion (on the display: "END") - an alarm will sound to
indicate that the sterilization process is complete.
CAUTION: once sterilization is complete do not open the door until
the display shows a pressure below 6 Kpa! Remove trays only
using the handle provided. It is best to let sterilized items cool
down completely before storing or reusing them.
After sterilization there will always be some hot steam left in the
chamber, so take care when opening the door - do not lean
directly over it or hold your hand over the ajar door.
When sterilization is complete the unit will print out a receipt showing
a summary of the sterilization process (pressure, temperature,
duration, etc. for a given sterilization step, etc.), then it will switch to
