1. Power on the host computer.
2. Insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive.
3. Click on the
Start
button and select
Run
.
4. Click the
Browse
button and select the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive.
5. Open the folder entitled
MosChip
on the driver CD.
6. Open the
MCS7830
folder and then
WinXP_WHQL\Win32
folder.
7. Select
Setup.exe
and then click the
Open
button. Driver installation will commence.
8. Follow all prompts to continue installation. Once the driver has been fully installed,
restart Windows.
9. After restarting Windows, connect the USB 2.0 Ethernet dongle to any available USB
2.0 port on the computer.
10. Windows should automatically detect the USB 2.0 Ethernet dongle and load any
necessary software remaining. Follow the instructions to conclude driver installation.
11. Attach the adapter to your hub/switch/other computer using a Category 5 or better
UTP patch cable (not included).

Monitoring the Ethernet connection
USB2105S offers three LEDs, allowing simple monitoring of the Ethernet connection.
PWR
- This LED indicates whether or not USB2105S is powered via USB connection to
the host computer. If it is, the LED will become illuminated (red).
LNK
- This LED indicates whether or not a connection is present between the adapter
and network devices (via Ethernet cable). If it is, this light will become illuminated
(green). This LED also indicates activity - when there is network activity, this LED
will blink in synch with network traffic.
SPD
- When in 10Mbps mode, this light will remain off. When in 100Mbps mode, this
light will illuminate (green).
