Installation
WARNING:
Hard drives require careful handling, especially when being transported. If you are
not careful with your hard disk, lost data may result. Always handle your hard drive and storage
device with caution.
Hardware Installation
1. Make sure the power switch on the enclosure is set to OFF and the power adapter is
unplugged from the enclosure.
2. Unlock the drive bay doors by turning the twist lock clockwise with the provided keys.
3. Open the drive bay doors by pulling on the metal door latch forward.
4. Slide a bare 2.5” SATA hard drive into the drive bay and close the door behind it, making sure
it latches properly.
5. Lock the drive bay doors by turning the twist lock counter-clockwise with the provided keys.
6. Set the enclosure to the proper RAID mode via the selection switch on the rear.
7. Connect the power adapter from an electrical outlet to the enclosure.
8. Power on the enclosure by setting the power switch to ON.
9. Press the “Reset” button on the rear of the enclosure to ensure the proper RAID mode
becomes set.
10. Connect the enclosure to the computer via eSATA or USB, not both.
11. To remove drives from the enclosure, first make sure that the disk volume is unmounted
within the operating system (see documentation for your operating system or host
controller) or the computer is off.
12. Turn the enclosure off by switch the power switch to OFF.
13. Unlock the drive bay door with the provided keys and open by pulling the metal latch
forward.
Driver Installation
No driver installation is required for these operating systems, as this enclosure is natively
supported, so the drivers are already installed.
