• Available USB A Female Port for power/charging capabilities (eg: PC USB or
USB Wall Charger)
• AOA HyperTerm Application for Android
• Android OS Version 3.2 Honeycomb or later
Installation
1. Connect the USB A connector to the USB port of a computer, or to a 5V/1A USB
wall charger.
2. Connect the USB Micro-B connector to the Micro USB port on your mobile Android™
device.
3. When the message appears saying that no installed apps work with this USB
accessory, click
View
to follow the link to the Google Play store to download the
appropriate application.
4. Select the
AOA HyperTerm
application, and on the next screen select
INSTALL
.
Note:
FTDI recommends using the AOA HyperTerminal Basic app, but any app that
supports the FT312D chipset should work with this adapter.
The application will download and install automatically, and auto loads once you
connect the adapter to your Android device.
5. Connect your RS-232 serial device to the DB9 connector of the adapter.
Note:
This device will only work on the original infrastructure of the Android
operating system and may not function with any modified versions.
