Remove a hard drive

Windows OS

Warning!

 If the blue Link/activity LED for the hard drive that you’re removing is 

blinking, don’t remove the hard drive. Wait until the LED stops blinking and then 

remove the hard drive from the mobile rack.

1.  Click the 

Safely remove Hardware and Eject Media

 icon in the task bar.

2.  Select the hard drive from the list of storage devices.
3.  Wait for a message to appear telling you that it’s safe to remove the hard drive.
4.  Slide the Release button on one of the Doors on the mobile rack.
5.  Slowly pull the hard drive out of the mobile rack.
6.  Close the Door on the mobile rack.

Warning!

1.  Close any open windows that list the contents of the hard drive.
2.  On the desktop, drag the 

USB storage icon

 onto the 

trash can

 icon.

3.  Wait 15 seconds.
4.  Slide the Release button on one of the Doors on the mobile rack.
5.  Slowly pull the hard drive out of the mobile rack.
6.  Close the Door on the mobile rack.
