Description :
We manufacture the STARTEC range of soldering iros to satisfy the exacting requirements of the
professionally minded hobby enthusiast.
These are right soldering tools for professional quality soldering work. These soldering irons are rugged, economical and
versatile, making them eminently suitable for the soldering tasks involved hobby electronic and electriacal repairs.
The soldering irons in the ST renge are intended for direct connection to the low-voltage 12,24V and feature a sturdy heater
unit design and a wide renge of soldering tips. The respective nominal power retings of 7.5, 25, 30, 50 and 80 Watts meet
the requirements of a broad range of soldering tasks.
Commissioning
1 – Bend the soldering stand according to the bending instructions.
2 – Place the soldering iron on the stand
3 – Make sure that there are no flammable objects in the vicinity of the soldering iron
4 – Check that the voltage corresponds to the nominal mains voltage rating of the soldering iron
5 – Insert the plug of the soldering iron into the power point
6 – After elapse oh the required heat-up time, wet soldering tip with solder.
7 – The soldering iron is then ready for use.
Bending instructions
Bend open the inner piece of the soldering iron stand by approx. 90º
Operating instructions
1 – Always ensure the work is clean.
2 – Soldering tips must be pretinned before use and regular pretinning during the life of the tip will ensure better soldering
quality
3 – Heat the work not the solder. Apply tipo to the work until solder flows onto the joint, after applying solder to the joint.
4 – Allow solder to cool undisturbed after removing soldering iron.
5 – Always use a tip with the largest surface area in contact with the work.
6 – Use the correct grade of solder for your application, enquire with solder manufactures if in doubt.
7 – To prevent tip frezing always loosen the tip after it has cooled before storing.
8 – This soldering iron must be placed on it's stand between soldering operations.
9 – If the cord is damaged it must only be replaced by the manufacturer or it's service agent to avoid hazard.
Safety precautions
The manufacturer accepts no liability for other usage in a manner deviating from the operating manual or for unauthorized
modifications.
Theses operating manual and the warnings and the warnings contained therein must be read attentively and kept clearly
visible in the vicinity of the soldering device. Failure to heed these warnings can lead to accidents and injuries ordamage to
health.
Warning notices
1 – Always use the stand when the soldering iron is not uss.
2 – Do not use the soldering iron in damp or wet conditions.
3 – Always solder on a non combustibile surface and be aware of surrounding materials as heat may cause damage
