Note:

 This could also mean a problem with a charger. If the 

charger indicates a problem, take the charger and battery 

pack to be tested at an authorized service centre.

Leaving the battery in the charger

The charger and battery pack can be left connected with the 

LED glowing indefinitely. The charger will keep the battery 

pack fresh and fully charged.

Hot/Cold Pack Delay

When the charger detects a battery that is too hot or too cold, 

it automatically starts a Hot/Cold Pack Delay, the green LED 

(5a) will flash intermittently, while the red LED (5b) will remain 

on continuously, suspending charging until the battery has 

reached an appropriate temperature. The charger then  

automatically switches to the pack charging mode. This 

feature ensures maximum battery life.

Battery state of charge indicator (Fig. B)

The battery includes a state of charge indicator to quickly 

determine the extent of battery life as shown in figure B. By 

pressing the state of charge button (4a) you can easily view 

the charge remaining in the battery as illustrated in figure B. 

Installing and Removing the Battery Pack from the 

tool

To install battery pack (Fig. C)

u

  Insert battery pack firmly into tool until an audible click is 

heard as shown in figure C. Ensure battery pack is fully 

seated and fully latched into position.

To remove battery pack (Fig. D)

u

  Depress the battery release button (4b) as shown in figure 

D and pull battery pack out of tool.

Storage hook (Optional extra) (Fig.E)

Warning!

 To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, ensure 

the screw (6) holding the storage hook is secure.

Note:

 When attaching or replacing the storage hook (7), use 

only the screw (6) that is provided. Be sure to securely tighten 

the screw.

If the hook is not desired at all, it can be removed from the 

tool.

To move the storage hook, remove the screw (6) that holds 

the storage hook (7) in place.

Note:

 Various trackwall hooks and storage configurations are 

available.

Switching on and off

To switch the light on press in the switch (1)

To switch the light off press in the switch (1)

The pivoting lens (fig. F, G)

u

 

For your convienience, the lens can be pivoted into a 

range of positions.

u

 

Turn the pivoting LED wheel (3) anti clockwise and posi-

tion the Lens (2) as required.

Note:

 The area light has 2 brightness levels. Continue to 

press the on/off switch (1) to cycle from OFF-HI-LO 

 

brightnesses.

Maintenance

Your Stanley FatMax tool has been designed to operate 

over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. 

Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool 

care and regular cleaning.

 

Your charger does not require any maintenance apart from 

regular cleaning.

Warning!

 Before performing any maintenance on the tool, 

remove the battery from the tool. Unplug the charger before 

cleaning it.

Regularly clean the ventilation slots in your tool and 

charger using a soft brush or dry cloth.

Regularly clean the motor housing using a damp cloth.

u

 

Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner.

u

 

Regularly open the chuck and tap it to remove any dust 

from the interior.

marked with this symbol must not be disposed of 

with normal household waste..

Products and batteries contain materials that can be recov-

ered or recycled reducing the demand for raw materials.
