- Squelch sensitivity confirmation -
(a) Press the MONI key twice within 1 second to set the
squelch level. Turn the channel knob to set the
squelch level to 01 (threshold squelch level).
(b) Set the transceiver channel to 01.
(c) Set the standard signal generator (SSG) as follows.
Frequency : see Table 4-1
Standard modulation frequency : 1 kHz
Standard frequency deviation : ± 3.0 kHz
(d) Gradually increase the output level of the SSG and
stop when squelch opens completely. At this point,
confirm that the SSG output level is –7 dB or less.
(e) Press the MONI key twice within 1 second to set the
squelch level. Turn the channel knob to set the
squelch level to 15 (tight squelch level).
(f) Confirm that squelch opens when the SSG output level
is 0 dBµ(emf).
(g) Set the transceiver channel to 04.
(h) Press the MONI key twice within 1 second to set the
squelch level. Turn the channel knob to set the
squelch level to 01(threshold squelch level).
(i) Set the standard signal generator (SSG) as follows.
Frequency : see Table 4-1
Standard modulation frequency : 1 kHz
Standard frequency deviation : ± 1.5 kHz
(j) Gradually increase the output level of the SSG and
stop when squelch opens completely. At this point,
confirm that the SSG output level is –7 dBµ or less.
(k) Press the MONI key twice within 1 second to set the
squelch level. Turn the channel knob to set the
squelch level to 15 (tight squelch level).
(l) Confirm that squelch opens when the SSG output level
is 0 dBµ(emf).
- SmarTrunk II terminal confirmation -
(a) Set the transceiver channel to 01.
(b) Set the standard signal generator (SSG) as follows.
Frequency : see Table 4-1
Standard modulation frequency : 1 kHz
Standard frequency deviation : ± 3.0 kHz (Wide)
/ ± 1.5 kHz (Narrow)
Output level : 60 dBµ
(c) Attach a 100 k
Ω
load to pin 7 or 8 of JL04. Put the
transceiver into the receive mode.
(d) Confirm that the output level from pin 7 or 8 of JL04 is
approximately 170 mV (Wide) or 85 mV (Narrow).
(e) Input a 1 kHz, 1 Vp-p audio signal to pin 5 or 6 of JL04
from the audio generator. (AC connection by 0.1 µF)
(f) Put the transceiver into the transmit mode.
(g) At this point, confirm that the deviation is approximately
± 3.0 kHz (Wide) or ± 1.6 kHz (Narrow).
- Setting when Shipped from Factory -
For information on how to make factory settings, refer to
the separate Programming Manual (Part number :
408B851040) for details.
(a) Perform all reset.
