Before Alignment
1. Press and hold in the SQL switch while turning the
transceiver on to enter the Setup Mode.
2. Press the SQL switch to select the Menu item “
LP
”.
3. Press the [
] or [ ] key to select the display to “
oFF
“,
then press the PTT switch.
4. Set up the test equipment as shown below. Maintain
the supply voltage at 7.4V DC for all steps.
PLL Reference Frequency
Set the transceiver to CH 12, and select Low power
output.
Press and hold in the PTT , SQL , [
] and [ ] key while
turning the transceiver on to enter the Alignment
Mode.
Press the [
] or [ ] key to select the display to “
REF
.“
The transceiver now is in the PLL Reference Frequency
Alignment Mode.
Press the [ MEM ] key to enable adjustment of the PLL
Reference Frequency.
Press the PTT key to cause the transceiver to trans-
mit; if necessary, press the [
] or [ ] key to adjust
the frequency to 156.600 MHz (±100 Hz).
Press the [ MEM ] key to exit the PLL Reference Fre-
quency Alignment Mode.

Low Power Adjustment
Set the transceiver to CH 12, and select Low power
output.
Press and hold in the PTT , SQL , [
] and [ ] key while
turning the transceiver on to enter the Alignment
Mode.
Press the [
] or [ ] key to select the display to

LPOW
.“ The transceiver now is in the Low power
output Alignment Mode.
Press the [ MEM
] key to enable adjustment of the Trans-
mitter Low Power Output.
Press the PTT key to cause the transceiver to trans-
mit; if necessary, press the [
] or [ ] key to adjust
the output power to 0.8 W (±0.05 W).
Press the [ MEM
] key to exit the Transmitter Low Power
Output Alignment Mode.
