Headend
All TVM-series units can be configured for multiple applications in a headend in-
stallation. See Figure 4-1.
1. The first configuration uses video and monaural audio signals made avail-
able by the satellite receiver. The modulator then broadcasts on the TV
channel selected on the TVM450/550/550II front panel.

2. The second configuration provides a video and BTSC stereo (baseband)
signal to the modulator, using the CSG60 module in-line, to generate the
BTSC stereo signal. The modulator then broadcasts on the TV channel se-
lected on the TVM450/550/550II front panel.
3. The third configuration illustrates the video/stereo digital audio hookup for
the TVM550IIS with its standard-equipment DSG2000BD module.
4. The fourth configuration allows direct connection between the satellite re-
ceiver and the modulator for stereo installations. This is accomplished in the
TVM450S or TVM550S models, which have the CSG60 BTSC stereo gen-
erator installed as standard equipment.
VIDEO –
A 75 ohm baseband video signal 0.5 to 1.5 V p-p (1.0 V p-p optimum),
should be inserted into the rear panel VIDEO IN connector.
MONAURAL AUDIO –
A balanced 600-ohm baseband audio signal, –10 to
+10 dBm peak program (0 dBm optimum), should be connected to the rear panel
screw terminals. If the audio source does not have a balanced output, use the
Plus and Ground screw terminals.
