Digital Output Module Relay Ex nA Outputs,
8 Channels for Zone 2 / Div. 2
Series 9477/15
8.2.2 Dismounting / Replacement of the Module
• During operation in a non-hazardous area, it is functionally possible to insert/
remove terminal X1 at any time.
• If there is no field cable connected or if this is de-energised, the module can be
mounted on or removed from the BusRail in the hazardous area.
• The pluggable field cable connection X1 must only be connected and disconnected
in the hazardous area when de-energised. Disconnect all the electrical circuits
connected to terminal X1 from the supply.
• Loosen the screws of the pluggable terminal X1.
• Disconnect the pluggable terminal X1 from the module to be replaced.
• Pull the blue notch lever of the module upwards to unlock the module.
• Remove the module vertically from the BusRail.
• Place the new module vertically onto the BusRail and press it lightly to snap it into
place.
• Plug the pluggable terminal X1 into the module and secure it against loosening using
screws (tightening torque 0.5 to 0.6 Nm).
Replacing modules
The BusRail terminations BusRail begin Sub-D Type 9494/A2-B0 and
BusRail end Sub-D Type 9494/A2-E0 must not be mounted directly next to
the module.
A distance of at least one module slot must be maintained between the
module and the BusRail terminals.
DANGER
Explosion hazard due to impermissible module operating conditions!
Non-compliance results in severe or fatal injuries!
• Remove terminal X1 from the module to be replaced if a partition is
installed to guarantee a distance of 50 mm.
When replacing the module with a module with identical design,
the set parameters are maintained. No further user adjustments are
necessary. When replacing the module with a module with a different
function, the module reports a configuration error (red "ERR" LED flashes).
The module must be either re-configured or replaced with a module of
correct type.
